Ultra-Sanitary Mixers Application Guide
Ultra-Sanitary Mixing Application Guide Suggested Ultra-Sanitary Mixers

Ultra-sanitary mixers generally have very specific application requirements that must be met. Whether your requirement needs to meet FDA, 3A, USP-VI, or BPE spec, we will successfully create a cost-effective aseptic mixer to accommodate your process needs.

Some common ultra-sanitary mixing processes include, but are not limited to:

  • Bioreactors
  • Fermenters
  • Liquid Blending
  • Emulsions
  • Dispersions

If you have specific written engineering specifications for your ultra-clean mixer, we will be happy to review them for no charge. Fusion’s engineers and fabricators are proud to offer you various options that can accompany your mixers.

  • FDA and USP-VI elastomers and seals
  • Mechanical polishing (from 32Ra to <8Ra)
  • Profilometer reports
  • Weld logs
  • Certified welding to required spec
  • Materials certs
  • Passivation
  • Electropolishing
  • Gasketed and threaded shaft & impeller connections
  • Flushable mechanical seals
  • Solid FDA Teflon impellers, fixed or folding type
  • MASS FLOW low shear impellers (“elephant ear”)
  • Bound documentation reports
  • 3D computer models and approval drawings
  • All stainless mixer drives

When you contact us, there are a few pieces of information we will need to know about your ultra-sanitary mixing application so we can properly size your mixer:

  • Tank schematic or dimensional information
  • Fluid properties, such as density and viscosity
  • Mounting connection preferences.   If wetted parts are all welded and polished, we will need to know opening sizes. Fusion can do a 3D model layout to check for clearances.
  • What type of special features do you need for the mixer? Some examples include:  stainless mixer drive, mechanical seals, special finishes, passivation, etc.
  • How quickly does the mixing process need to occur? For heated kettles, does a scraper or anchor impeller need to be used for FAST heat transfer?
